We left Rome on October 7 en route to Paris
via Orly Airport. Aunt Susan and I took
Vueling Airlines, one of
the low cost airlines in Europe. We only paid EUR40 per person, 1 way
compared to EUR221 per person for the
overnight train from Rome to Paris.
From Orly airport, we took the
RER Metro Subway en route to our
hotel, Pavillon Monceau
Palais des Congres. The hotel was just about 2 blocks from
Villiers subway stop and very accessible to the nearby tourist stops.
The Paris train system was very efficient with various stops and passenger
friendly.
Our first stop was the
Moulin Rouge but
we did not watch any of the shows because it was very expensive. The
cheapest was about EUR90 per person. From the Moulin Rouge, we took
the Metro from Blanche station to Bir-Hakeim and witnessed the lights of the
beautiful Eiffel tower.
From there, we called it a night and prepared
for more walk the following day.
