Day Three - and 70% of my Sydney tour was
almost over except to taste a kangaroo steak!
This time, I walked 2 blocks from the hotel
to catch the
Sydney Explorer Bus at stop #6. Went to King's Cross (stop #9) and
visited the Jewish Museum.
It was a very interesting experience as I finally believed that the German's
did the holocaust simply to kill the Jews. The core perpetrators of
the Holocaust apparently were lawyers, doctors, ordinary Germans who just
hated the Jews.
Also, I had to go to King's Cross as
Iguana Bar was located there where
part of their menu was kangaroo steak. Unfortunately, the restaurant
was closed for renovation so I just hopped on the bus again and went to
Woolloomooloo Bay, stop #10.
At Woolloomooloo Bay, one must try the tiger
pie at the famous
Harry's Pie.
It was made of stuffed stew beef topped with mashed potato and mashed green
peas with gravy. An Australian naval base is also stationed at the
bay.
While waiting for the bus, I grabbed a beer
at Woolloomooloo Bay. Next stop was
Mrs. Macquaries
Point where you can have another picturesque spot of the opera house's
other side.
Didn't have anything to do and it was still
early. So I decided to go back to stop #21 at the Maritime Museum.
Too bad the submarine was closed for public viewing as it was set to be dry
docked for repairs. Took a stroll along Darling Harbour and saw
Meat and Wine Co. Restaurant.
My tourist curiosity kicked-in and such a glimmer that I saw kangaroo steak
in their menu!
The steak was very tender with a very unique
taste. It was difficult to compare with lamb or beef. I thought
it was a bit similar to water buffalo meat but much much tender.
From the restaurant, took a last glimpse of
Circular Quay and took the train back to my hotel!
Now, off to my homeland - The Philippines! |
