Rendezvous #1 -
Hongkong
Rendezvous #2 - Bali, Indonesia
Rendezvous #3 -
Singapore
Rendezvous #5 - Seoul, South Korea
The tour members labeled me as the dictator
Gaddafi due to strict time compliance. Since the flight via
Air Asia from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur was at 7:40 am, I already
conducted a roll call at 5:00 am. As usual, Rhea was late and I had to
call their room for immediate check-out.
Most of the ladies looked harassed due to
lack of sleep and they were in a rush for the early departure to Kuala
Lumpur. Nonetheless, as soon as we got to KL, our van transport via
Skyvan was already waiting.
The van was pre-arranged a month prior and can accommodate 8 passengers
(excluding driver). Since Rhea was a last minute member, she had to
squeeze-in among the members inside the van.
The van driver, Din was very polite and spoke
good English. The drive from the airport to
Genting Highlands was approximately
2 hours. It was a fun ride since Rhea was squeezed in and Din was a
very good tourist driver.
Genting Highlands was like the mini Las Vegas
of Malaysia. There were several hotels in the area with in-house
restaurants, theme parks, casino, shopping areas, etc. We just stayed
at Genting for 1 night and Din picked us up again the following day for a
tour around Kuala Lumpur.
Our first stop was the
Petronas Tower
which, at one time, was the tallest building in the world from 1998-2004.
We had our pictures taken and some of the ladies went for shopping. From
there, we dropped our luggage at
Hotel Sentral which
was a true 3-star hotel with large enough rooms for 4 guests. The
hotel was a stone's throw away from
KL Sentral Train Station.
As soon as we've settled our luggage at the
hotel, we went for lunch at one of the restaurants near the hotel.
Took the Kuala Lumpur
subway from KL Sentral to Pasar Seni Station for the
Central Market.
The ladies spent a lot of time shopping here while myself, Joel and Paeng
waited for them at the coffee shop.
By 5:00 pm, we settled back to the hotel and
went to the central station en route to the airport. Fare from KL
Sentral to the airport via
KL Express was
RM 35.00 or US$11.50. We bid goodbye as
they went back to the Philippines while I had to make my last Asian
rendezvous to Seoul, South Korea.
