It was a very short bus trip via Lux Express from Riga to Tallinn.  The bus fare was approximately CAD$20/trip/person and the trip was about 3 1/2 hours.

Peter and I stayed at Pk Ilmarine Hotel which was near the Old Town and Port of Tallinn.

All of the main attractions of Tallinn ar at Old Town like the Town Hall Square, Kiek in de Kök & Bastion Tunnels and the treacherous St. Olaf's Chuch.  For EUR 2 entrance fee, we went up the tower for 253 steps on very treacherous and steep hallways where we held onto 1 thick rope.  Once up the tower, we had a very good 360 degree view of Tallinn.

Interestingly, one of the churches that we went to had to charge EUR 1.50 to get into the church itself and EUR 5 to get up the tower.  I wondered if people who went to mass to that church actually paid EUR 1.50 to worship.

The town was very small and we even went back to the hotel late in the afternoon to get a quick rest.  For dinner, we had some seafood mix for appetizer and more pork legs.

As October 19 approached, we celebrated my 42nd birthday by having different kinds of expensive whisky.  From Johnny Walker Blue and various Cognac.  The bar tender even gave us freebies as Peter celebrated his 25th birthday on October 18.  The pictures show how much fun we had on our birthdays!
