Happy People of Stockholm, Sweden. May 23, 2013.

1st Stop - Copenhagen, Denmark

2nd Stop - Reykjavik, Iceland (Day 1)

2nd Stop - Reykjavik, Iceland (Day 2)

3rd Stop - Oslo, Norway

If most of the people at Oslo that I ran into were miserable, it was the total opposite in Stockholm.  People there were happy and, in a very chirpy way, they kept on saying Hej! Hej! Hej! (pronounced Hey and means "Hello" to their friends, acquaintance or to us when we asked them for directions.

Our bus from Oslo departed at about 11:30 pm and arrived at Stockholm Central Bus Station at 7:00 am. Got ourselves some breakfast and bought transport day pass via SL. 24-hour pass was SEK 135 ($21) that included the SEK 20 access card. The card was like a credit card that is refillable and had a 6 year expiration.

Took the subway and we dropped our bags at Hotel Aldoria which was literally on top of Fridhemsplan stop.  Check-in was 3:00 pm and we got there at about 8:00 am so we left our bags in their storage room.  From the hotel, we went to Djurgården and strolled for about 2 hours.  We saw a replica statue of The Thinker and initially thought it was a Rodin original.

Went back to city center and walked through the typical European street shopping center, Västerlånggatan.  At the end of the street were The Opera House, Riksdag (Parliament), and at the center was The Stockholm Palace

After all those walking, we went back to the hotel for a bit of rest and at about 3:00 pm, we went to Millesgården.  For some reason, we got lost at Ropsten station that connected us to Torsvik which was the tram stop to Millesgården.  From Torsvik, it was a 15 minute walk and since we got lost at the Ropsten station, we got at Millesgarden at about 3:55 pm and the sales lady was very kind to let us roam for 5 minutes as closing time was 4:00 pm.  Nothing special about the garden except for the weird statues/sculpture.

To culminate our Sweden trip, Mom and I had 1 and half pints of beer for $22.  A celebration that we completed our trip to expensive Scandinavia.

Following day, we took the Flygbussarna at the Central Bus Station for the 45 minute ride to the airport.  Fare was SEK 99 ($15).  Connected via Frankfurt back to Toronto.
