After the Underground River tour, our next adventure was the Island Hopping at Honda Bay.  I pre-arranged the tour with Kawayanan Resort since they provided a very competitive price plus the extra discount. It was best that an island hopping tour be pre-arranged since the port at Honda Bay was about 30 mins drive from Puerto Princesa proper and public transportation was not easily available.  If someone could have done a drop off/pick up for us, I could have made the arrangements myself.

However, the Ps 1,100/person island hopping tour was extremely reasonable since it covered transfer from resort to wharf, boat tour, entrance fees and lunch.  Yes, the sumptous lunch!

So upon arrival at the wharf, Dad did his fresh market shopping and bought some freshly caught fish - still alive.  This was on top of the lunch provided by the resort.  Our freelance guide Jaja, was helpful and was actually very pleasant and nice.

Our first stop was the Pambato Coral Reef where we were treated with a nice view of coral reef with lots of fish species to watch.  From there, we went to Starfish Tabuan but we did not swim in the area due to rockfish where their protruding spines were a bit poisonous.

We spent most of the day at Snake Island where we had our lunch and Mom had her local shopping as well.  Out boatmen cooked the freshly caught fish that Dad bought at the wharf on top of the other dishes the resort prepared for us.  The island does look like a snake because of its swerved like feature.

From Snake Island, we went to Pandan Island where Mom had a great time feeding the fish in the middle of the ocean.  It was such an awesome site that all of us were just amazed with it.  Funny because Dad was missing and apparently he went for a massage provided by the locals!

From Pandan Island, we went back to the port where the resort van picked us up and brought us back to Kawayanan.  Got a bit of a rest and Dad treated us for my birthday dinner at KaLui restaurant where we had prawns, all sorts of fish and excellent dessert.  For all the 7 dishes that we had, the price was extremely reasonable!

It was great that we were able to go through all the top restaurants in Palawan and I would rate KaLui as the best, second was Badjao Restaurant and Kinabuchs was just the same as the other locals - except for the crocodile dish.

Next stop.......Manila!
